  • Apply behavioural and crisis-intervention techniques safely and respectfully.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, families, and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in a social services field (e.g., Developmental Services Worker, Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Care).
  • 1–5 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, mental health challenges, or dual diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of MCCSS standards and Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) preferred.
  • Valid G-Class Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Current First Aid & CPR (Level C) certification.
  • Certification in Safe Management Group (SMG) or Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) is an asset.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening.

What We’re Looking For

  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Sound judgment and crisis management ability.
  • Emotional and physical resilience (able to lift up to 50 lbs).
